During nearly 12 years of collaboration, CETYS University and City University of Seattle have provided the opportunity to live the experience of the Double Degree to more than 400 professionals, who at the end of their education obtain a double degree, one in Mexico and one in States United States, which represents an important added value for the labor field.

This is  is the only program of its kind offered in the Northwest of the country, resulting in an outstanding academic development of young people.

This past summer, a group of 20 students from the Mexicali and Tijuana campus participated in their second summer stay as part of the Dual Degree program in conjunction with City University of Seattle, in Prague, Czech Republic.

For more than three weeks the students took the «Project Management» course at the University of Finance and Administration (VSFS), where they tackled the topics of marketing, business and project development. In addition to the contents in the classroom, they made visits to companies such as Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile and Foxconn, as well as the National Bank of Czech Republic.

According to Professor Nataly Medina Rodríguez, Academic of the School of Engineering at Campus Tijuana and who served as an accompanying academic during the trip, these activities are of utmost importance for the personal and professional development of students.

«Through them they improve their skills with a global perspective, which makes them become highly competitive young people globally,» he said.

The group was made up of students from the following academic programs:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Digital Graphic Design
• Industrial Engineering
• Electronic Cybernetics
• Business Administration
• International Business
• International Public Accountant

They are expected to apply this knowledge and perspective in favor of the economic development of the country, mainly in project management and innovation in the design or manufacturing processes of the various sectors present in the region.

For Aranza Álvarez Lozano, a student of the seventh semester of Bachelor’s Degree in International Public Accountant in Campus Tijuana and enrolled in the Dual Degree program, having participated in this international course was a constant learning, as well as a new way of seeing the world from its field professional.

«In addition to classroom knowledge, I learned more about myself in prioritizing activities, relating myself well to people from other cultures, as well as a focus on meeting goals, objectives, and new challenges, which both contribute to my development as a person And in the professional field, «he shared.

Prior to the visit to Prague, the participants conduct a study stay at the CityU main campus in Seattle, Washington.
