Saturday, September 2 is an important date for CETYS University’s Zorros, as the Football team will face the Jacks of Humboldt State University at the Redwood Bowl in Arcata, California, in an international friendly match.

Jesus Arturo Reyes Miranda, captain of the collegiate team, knows that it is not an easy task but he intends to take advantage of the opportunity to measure himself against his peers and develop his abilities, thus improving both at a personal and team level.

«In my life I have played against many strong teams and although you never want to lose a game, you know that in the end you will learn something, so I see a great opportunity when playing against a very strong team, that is how I am going to approach this», says Reyes, who currently studies Mechanical Engineering.

And precisely that experience is what CETYS University ultimately seeks for its student-athletes in the friendly games, in various disciplines, that have been scheduled with institutions in the United States, while also creating relationships, strengthening ties and promoting cross-border understanding.

CETYS University, has been leading efforts to ensure its student-athletes have access to these friendly matches, whilst working towards increasing this agenda in the immediate future.

With this, CETYS University seeks to take the quality of its sports program to an international level, as it has already achieved in academic terms, being the only educational institution in Mexico accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
