CETYS University has been ranked at the Top 3 of private universities in Mexico and among the Top 10 of Higher Education Institutions in the country in the first edition of Times Higher Education (T.H.E) Impact & Innovation Ranking.

Will Sánchez, Regional Director for Africa and Latin America at Times Higher Education, gave this distinction to CETYS University for its participation and compromise in higher education in the representation of T.H.E.

«CETYS University stands out in three areas: innovation, inclusion and high-quality education. This type of evaluation teaches us about our challenges, in areas such as research, but it also speaks about our internal processes. The position that we have obtained is privileged, but the most important thing is the hard work that is done for the benefit of students, and its impact in the region»,  said Dr. Fernando León García, President of CETYS University.

Times Higher Education’s Impact & Innovation Ranking evaluates universities’ contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, in collaboration with experts in the field, including Vertigo Ventures, an organization that helps leading research institutions to identify, capture and report the impact of their work.

Carefully calibrated indicators are used to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons in three broad areas: research, dissemination, and administration.

CETYS University has participated in category #4, quality education, that measures the contribution of universities in the first years and the permanent learning, its pedagogical research and its commitment to inclusive education.

«For regions such as Baja California, quality education is a key element to overcome challenges and create leadership. I congratulate CETYS University for being one of the Top 3 private universities in Mexico in this Ranking. Now the challenge is that after this first analysis, have the possibility to advance in this rankings and the other Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are relevant for the region», said Will Sánchez, Regional Director for Africa and Latin America of Times Higher Education.
