CETYS University recently welcomed 238 students and 12 professors from across
North America, Central America, South America, Asia, and Europe for the 12th edition
of the «International Summer Program (ISP),» a two-week academic program held
annually at the Ensenada International Campus.
During the opening ceremony, Dr. Fernando León-García, President of the CETYS
University System, warmly welcomed the students and emphasized the significance of
the ISP’s global perspective: «Our courses are designed to cultivate a global outlook.
Throughout the program, our faculty will support you, working together to strengthen
ties with partner universities, enhance learning through hands-on experiences, and
explore potential collaborative research projects.»
He also noted that this year’s program includes participation from international
professors who will deliver 13 courses. In-person offerings include Project Management,
Business Intelligence, International Marketing, Strategic Management, Negotiation and
Conflict Resolution, Supply Chain Management, Renewable Energy Sources, Social
Media Marketing, and Creativity and Innovation.
Additionally, hybrid (in-person and online) courses will cover topics such as
Sustainability and Competitiveness, and International Trade in the North American
Region. The course on Leadership and Innovation will be available online.
Dr. Francisco Vélez, Dean of the Ensenada International Campus, encouraged students
to step out of their comfort zones and fully engage in the rigorous academic
environment: «This is not a summer camp; it’s an intensive summer program. The
courses you’ll be taking are demanding and accredited.»
Similarly, Dr. Scott Venezia-Corral, Director of International Relations for the CETYS
University System, mentioned that this is «the 12th edition of the International Summer
Program, a high-quality program for students. Your experience is very important to us
and our partners, as it contributes to developing your skills and professional growth.» He
concluded by emphasizing to the students: «CETYS is your home, your summer home.»
For the second consecutive year, CETYS High School students from all three campuses
are participating in the ISP, enrolling in the course «Creativity in Action: How to Turn
Your Ideas into Reality,» led by Colombian instructor Yudy Alexandra Hernández-
Parada.
This year’s ISP features in-person students from countries such as Poland, Germany,
Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Czech Republic, the United States,
Armenia, Portugal, Uzbekistan, Bosnia, and Mexico. Additionally, students from
Morocco, India, Colombia, Bangladesh, and Austria will participate online. Professors
from Peru, the Netherlands, Egypt, Australia, the Philippines, Ukraine, China, Poland,
the Czech Republic, Colombia, and India, and those joining online from Spain,
contributed to the program.
