After two weeks of academic, cultural, and social activities, 238 students and 12
professors from 25 countries concluded their participation in the 2024 International
Summer Program (ISP) at CETYS University’s International Campus in Ensenada this
Friday, July 26. The program was held both in-person and virtually.
The official closing ceremony featured remarks from the leadership of the Ensenada
International Campus and the CETYS University System. Dr. Francisco Vélez, Dean of
the Ensenada Campus, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the success of this year’s
program.
“We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work together. This summer, we
witnessed the true power of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and friendship. The
memories and connections formed here will last for years to come. Dear professors, I
extend my deepest thanks for your dedication and commitment,” said Dr. Francisco
Vélez.
Professor Alejandro Quintana, an international faculty member for this edition, also
emphasized the value of the ISP experience: “This has been an extraordinary journey. I
am deeply thankful to be part of this as a professor. Over the past two weeks, we have
all learned from one another, exchanged ideas, and broadened our knowledge.”
The ISP provides participants with the opportunity to tackle challenges from diverse
perspectives, expand their professional networks, and identify growth opportunities in
other countries, among other benefits.
Students Share Their International Experiences Faiza Chohan from Nottingham Trent University shared her excitement about the program: “I loved the ISP. I’m so grateful that we were offered this program. Coming from England to Mexico, I now feel like Ensenada is my second home. I’m thrilled.

My favorite part of the ISP was the industry visits, the events—especially the Mexican
event—and the salsa we made. My favorite food was the carne asada tacos; I
absolutely loved them!”
Eduardo Deveze from the Ensenada Campus highlighted how much he enjoyed
participating in this edition, particularly the ease of connecting with international
students, «and the fact that I earned credits for the next semester.»
The participating students and faculty hailed from Poland, Germany, Italy, Spain, the
United Kingdom, Ireland, the Czech Republic, the United States, Armenia, Portugal,
Uzbekistan, Bosnia, Mexico, Morocco, India, Colombia, Bangladesh, Austria, Peru, the
Netherlands, Egypt, Australia, the Philippines, Ukraine, and China.
