CETYS University is an institution in constant search of educational excellence, and accreditations play a key role in ensuring the university upholds to the highest international quality standards. As a result of these efforts, our School of Business is the first institution in Mexico’s Northwest to receive international accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Recently, Dr. Carlos A. Gonzalez, Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation, represented CETYS at the ACBSP 2019 Annual Conference that took place in Houston, Texas from June 21-24. During his presentation “Integrated assessment and program review: A process for regional and professional accreditors – CETYS University experience”, Dr. Gonzalez had the opportunity to share best practices and lessons learned from CETYS’ endeavors on bi-national accreditations from Mexico and the U.S., while facing multiple challenges as avoiding faculty overburdening when, inevitably, timelines combine and accreditors request information at the same time and in multiple languages, among others.

“The ACBSP Conference is the premier event for Business Schools to come together to share and learn about best practices, innovations and upcoming trends of excellence in education. During ACBSP 2019 CETYS was fortunate to share with colleagues some of the work that is being done in Assessment and Program Review by our faculty and students by using a process that was created in-house which is helping improve the curriculum” stated Dr. Gonzalez

Dr. Carlos Gonzalez successfully completed the Evaluator Training for ACBSP and comes back from this conference with a renewed perspective on institutional assessment and accreditations to further increase quality in business education at CETYS University to prepare globally-competitive students.
