En primera instancia, el Dr. Jes&uacute;s Esteban Braham, M&eacute;dico Psiquiatra del Instituto de Psiquiatr&iacute;a del Estado de Baja California (IPEBC), ofreci&oacute; una conferencia dentro de la Sala Kenworth. Alrededor de 40 alumnos presenciaron la charla, en donde se habl&oacute; de las causas de estos trastornos desde el punto de vista de la neurobiolog&iacute;a de la imagen corporal. En el mismo lugar se imparti&oacute; un taller sobre c&oacute;mo tratar los trastornos alimenticios, como la bulimia y la anorexia nerviosa, desde el enfoque cognitivo conductual. La facilitadora del taller fue la Psic. Bel&eacute;n Preciado, Encargada del Departamento de Psicolog&iacute;a en Trastornos de la Conducta Alimentaria del IPEBC y maestra del CETYS. Actualmente, se estima que tres de cada diez personas sufren de alg&uacute;n tipo de trastorno alimenticio, que surge com&uacute;nmente por la baja autoestima, entre otros factores.
