El Dr. Fernando Le&oacute;n Garc&iacute;a, m&aacute;xima autoridad del plantel, dio la bienvenida a m&aacute;s de mil asistentes en el recinto. Destac&oacute; la importancia de la vinculaci&oacute;n entre las instituciones educativas y el desarrollo cient&iacute;fico para el crecimiento de la regi&oacute;n y el pa&iacute;s.El Dr. Hall subi&oacute; al escenario agradeciendo la asistencia y present&oacute; su conferencia &quot;Los Objetivos de la Educaci&oacute;n en Ciencias, Tecnolog&iacute;a, Ingenier&iacute;a y Matem&aacute;ticas en apoyo al estudio de los fundamentos detr&aacute;s de la excelencia en ingenier&iacute;a&quot;. Destac&oacute; la necesidad de &quot;aprender a aprender&quot;. Se&ntilde;al&oacute; que &quot;La perspicacia y la creatividad son las virtudes clave que debemos desarrollar; los detalles los encontramos en Google&quot;. Y enunci&oacute; las contribuciones que la &oacute;ptica ha hecho en la medicina, permitiendo realizar diagn&oacute;sticos m&eacute;dicos no invasivos para la detecci&oacute;n temprana de diabetes y la presencia de mon&oacute;xido de carbono en el aliento.El trabajo del Dr. Hall ha contribuido al desarrollo de la espectroscopia de precisi&oacute;n basada en l&aacute;ser, incluyendo la t&eacute;cnica de frecuencia &oacute;ptica conocida como &quot;peine&quot;, que le vali&oacute; el Premio Nobel. Sus investigaciones hicieron posible medir frecuencias con una precisi&oacute;n de 15 d&iacute;gitos, lo que ha permitido la construcci&oacute;n de l&aacute;seres con colores extremadamente precisos.
