La organizaci\u00f3n de la conferencia estuvo a cargo de Vicerrector\u00eda Acad\u00e9mica, dirigida por el Ing. Marco Antonio Carrillo Maza, adem\u00e1s del Colegio de Posgrado, encabezado por el Mtro. Mario Dipp, en conjunto con el Ing. Eugenio Lagarde, primer alumno matriculado en CETYS y reconocido empresario en nuestra ciudad. La finalidad de la conferencia fue dar a conocer qu\u00e9 es la biotecnolog\u00eda y la importancia de su estudio, as\u00ed como la generaci\u00f3n de planes acad\u00e9micos dentro de las universidades. El doctor mencion\u00f3 que Estados Unidos es l\u00edder a nivel mundial en el tema de la Biotecnolog\u00eda, a su vez Singapur y China se encuentran compartiendo el segundo lugar mundial. Dada nuestra cercan\u00eda con San Diego y San Francisco, nuestro estado tiene una gran oportunidad en el campo de la Biotecnolog\u00eda porque son ciudades que cuentan con estudios especializados.En el evento estuvieron presentes el Vicerrector Acad\u00e9mico, Dr. Marco Carrillo Maza,  del Colegio de Postgrado la Ing. Cynthia Ram\u00edrez y el Lic. Mart\u00edn Mart\u00ednez.
