Por otra parte, las compulsiones, siendo actos repetitivos destinados a aliviar esa incomodidad. \u201cPara que se considere un trastorno, estos pensamientos deben ocupar al menos una hora al d\u00eda y afectar la vida laboral, acad\u00e9mica o social de la persona\u201d, explic\u00f3 el <strong>Dr. Daniel Nikolaus \u00c1lvarez N\u00fa\u00f1ez, coordinador y docente de la Maestr\u00eda en Neuropsicolog\u00eda de CETYS Universidad Campus Mexicali<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mencion\u00f3 que existe una diversidad de obsesiones, ya sean relacionadas con la limpieza, la simetr\u00eda o el orden, que pueden llevar a <strong>rituales<\/strong> como lavarse las manos constantemente, revisar puertas repetidamente o evitar pisar ciertas l\u00edneas o grietas al caminar. Aunque estas acciones ofrecen un alivio moment\u00e1neo, terminan perpetuando el ciclo del TOC.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Desde un enfoque neurocient\u00edfico, el TOC est\u00e1 vinculado a disfunciones en \u00e1reas espec\u00edficas del cerebro, como la orbitofrontal ubicada en la<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">corteza prefrontal,\u00a0 las \u00e1reas subcorticales, el t\u00e1lamo y los ganglios basales, que regulan el control de impulsos y los pensamientos intrusivos. Cuando estas regiones no funcionan adecuadamente, los pensamientos obsesivos invaden la mente, dificultando la capacidad de la persona para ignorarlos, expres\u00f3 el <strong>Experto CETYS<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El docente agreg\u00f3 que este trastorno surge de una base multifactorial que podr\u00eda combinar gen\u00e9tica y ambiente, esto debido a que estudios indican que entre el 40 % y 60 % de los hijos de personas con TOC tienen mayores probabilidades de desarrollar el trastorno. Adem\u00e1s, eventos traum\u00e1ticos, estr\u00e9s temprano o patrones de personalidad perfeccionista pueden incrementar el riesgo.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cNo es una regla, pero ciertos rasgos, como el perfeccionismo extremo combinado con antecedentes familiares, aumentan significativamente las probabilidades\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3 el especialista.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Asimismo, enfatiz\u00f3 que el diagn\u00f3stico oportuno es clave, por lo que recomend\u00f3 acudir a un profesional de la salud mental si las obsesiones interfieren con la vida diaria. Los s\u00edntomas suelen manifestarse durante la adolescencia o en la adultez temprana, aunque tambi\u00e9n pueden aparecer en ni\u00f1os.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El tratamiento m\u00e1s efectivo combina terapia farmacol\u00f3gica y terapia cognitivo-conductual.
