Ibza Am\u00e9rica Garc\u00eda Le\u00f3n, coordinadora y docente de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/programas\/maestria-en-gerontologia-social\/\">Maestr\u00eda en Gerontolog\u00eda Social<\/a> de CETYS Universidad Campus Mexicali<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Desde la <strong>visi\u00f3n gerontol\u00f3gica social<\/strong>, es importante considerar al adulto mayor como un agente activo en la sociedad. Si bien, hay enfermedades que est\u00e1n vinculadas con la edad, no todo lo relacionado al envejecimiento tiende a ser perjudicial, por lo que es necesario reconocer que el adulto mayor tiene derechos, obligaciones y que est\u00e1n dentro de las personas productivas en cuestiones de empleabilidad, se\u00f1al\u00f3.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La Experta CETYS destac\u00f3 que alrededor de la vejez existen una variedad de estereotipos negativos<strong>,<\/strong> tales como el tab\u00fa de establecer una relaci\u00f3n rom\u00e1ntica afectiva o el salir de vacaciones por su cuenta. La internalizaci\u00f3n o aceptaci\u00f3n de estereotipos relacionados con la edad son frecuentes en una sociedad en la que se espera que las personas luzcan j\u00f3venes siempre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parte de los <strong>estereotipos sociales<\/strong> tratan sobre cumplir con expectativas o hitos del desarrollo seg\u00fan la edad, tales como adquirir una casa, veh\u00edculo, pareja o hijos. Sin embargo, explic\u00f3 la especialista, recientemente se ha visto un cambio en la demograf\u00eda, en el que no todos los adultos mayores, por ejemplo, se convierten en abuelos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHay muchos j\u00f3venes que est\u00e1n decidiendo no ser padres y por lo tanto sus pap\u00e1s no ser\u00e1n abuelos. Existe un rol asociado al envejecimiento que es ser abuelo y vienen unas partes de duelo importante que se ir\u00e1n estudiando conforme se observen estas olas de crecimiento demogr\u00e1fico\u201d, expres\u00f3.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u00bfC\u00f3mo envejecer de forma sana?<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La Mtra. Garc\u00eda Le\u00f3n determin\u00f3 que es importante<strong> realizar ejercicios de prevenci\u00f3n<\/strong> en periodos anteriores del ciclo vital para evitar enfermedades, tales como realizar movimientos que les permitan mantenerse activos, fortaleciendo las articulaciones y utilizando fuerza, as\u00ed como dormir bien y comer de manera responsable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Si bien, es necesario que las personas realicen una actividad f\u00edsica constante, resalt\u00f3 que tambi\u00e9n se debe <strong>cuidar la salud mental<\/strong>, debido a que los adultos mayores atraviesan diferentes duelos al perder varios seres queridos o incluso enfrentarse al espejo y verse a s\u00ed mismos diferentes, por lo que se debe evitar la soledad y en cambio, realizar actividades en familia o acudir a centros de desarrollo, en donde hay actividades exclusivas para adultos mayores.
