{"id":602,"date":"2019-10-30T01:08:29","date_gmt":"2019-10-30T01:08:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/?p=602"},"modified":"2020-03-19T06:46:00","modified_gmt":"2020-03-19T06:46:00","slug":"students-of-cetys-at-international-top-of-programming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/students-of-cetys-at-international-top-of-programming\/","title":{"rendered":"Students of CETYS at international top of programming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><strong><i>FoxCoding<\/i><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> team, a division of the representative <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FoxRobotics\/?ref=br_rs\"><strong><i>FoxRobotics<\/i><\/strong><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the <strong>School of Engineering<\/strong> of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwiMpcac5MLlAhVOOq0KHV2wBvIQFjAAegQIBhAD&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cetys.mx%2Fen%2F&amp;usg=AOvVaw2qhrs_X215mQnwORKN9HNE\">CETYS University<\/a><\/span>, placed themselves among the <\/span><b>Top Ten<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the programming competition of the <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/events\/disrupt-sf-2019\/\"><b>International Hackathon \u201cDisrupt SF2019\u201d<\/b><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> organized by <strong>TechCrunch,<\/strong> held in San Francisco, CA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <strong>Disrupt SF2019<\/strong> competition consisted in a challenge in which the students had a period of 48 hours to develop a prototype of a product, prior investigation and justification of it, as well as present it to the judges, CEOs of companies and potential investors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the competition, <\/span><strong><i>FoxCoding<\/i><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> worked hand in hand with companies in the fields of: Pets, home room security and databases; with the goal of creating a location system for pets and valuable information for the pet owner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>A hard working Team<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In preparation for the competition, for months, the team took specialized extracurricular courses, as well as programming workshops in the Node.js system.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cBeing part of FoxCoding drives me to learn more about my career, to work as a team and to investigate in depth the programming area. In the future, I see myself as a programmer in the industry,\u201d said Alejandro Ruiz, Coordinator of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FoxCoding<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and student of the first semester of Electronic Cybernetics Engineering at CETYS University Mexicali Campus.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The team also participated in other Hackathons in Baja California where they obtained the 1st and 2nd place, and Guadalajara, Mexico, where they took 2nd place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Behind the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FoxCoding<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> team, there is the support and mentoring of the academic faculty of the School of Engineering, and the Center for Innovation and Design CEID at the Mexicali Campus of CETYS University, including <strong>Dr. Luis Carlos B\u00e1saca, Dr Juan Terrazas, and \u00c1lvaro Moreno.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThese skills enrich the professional training of students, as they solve real problems and become creative in a highly competitive international field, and thus go beyond what they learn in the classroom.
