{"id":498,"date":"2019-05-21T16:33:51","date_gmt":"2019-05-21T16:33:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/?p=498"},"modified":"2020-03-19T04:36:24","modified_gmt":"2020-03-19T04:36:24","slug":"astronaut-jose-hernandez-and-cetys-to-improve-aerospace-engineering-in-the-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/astronaut-jose-hernandez-and-cetys-to-improve-aerospace-engineering-in-the-region\/","title":{"rendered":"Astronaut Jose Hernandez and CETYS, to improve aerospace engineering in the region"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Academics and students of the institution will work with the American astronaut of Mexican origin in technological projects of the industry, conferences, grants for stays in research centers and rocket launches.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the objective of promoting regional development in strategic issues such as aerospace, through the integral training of professionals and the effective linkage with the industry, as one of the pillars of its educational model, Dr. Fernando Le\u00f3n, President of CETYS University and mexican-american Astronaut, Dr. Jos\u00e9 Hern\u00e1ndez, met at the Ensenada International Campus to sign an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Derived from this agreement, academics and students of the three CETYS University Campus will participate with the astronaut in projects in support of the aerospace industry of the region; They will work on launching a rocket in collaboration with other international organizations in an inter-institutional manner, among others, as was announced by Dr. Fernando Le\u00f3n Garc\u00eda.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00abWe are taking the link we established with Jos\u00e9 Hern\u00e1ndez to a next level, precisely because one of the pillars of our educational model is the linkage with the industry, which impacts positively on students, as well as incorporates the work of the academy and the government together, in order to promote regional development on strategic issues\u00bb.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is with activities such as these that CETYS fosters global competitiveness in its students and also reinforces the involvement and participation of international experts, providing knowledge as part of their comprehensive education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mexican-American Astronaut, Dr. Jos\u00e9 Hern\u00e1ndez stressed that he will work with the institution, developing propulsion systems to support the aerospace industry, which will make CETYS University one of the few universities that will train experts in this field in Mexico.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>Scholarships for engineering students<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to the joint projects derived from this signing agreement, it also seeks to impact the students of the institution directly, through the delivery of two scholarships.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jaime Caleb Virrey Valdez, who studies Mechatronic Engineering at the Ensenada International Campus, was chosen by Dr. Hern\u00e1ndez for a two-week internship in the main offices of Tierra Luna Engineering LCC, in California, during the internship along with Dr. Jos\u00e9 Hern\u00e1ndez and his team of engineers, he will participate in various projects such as development of an autonomous car and development of minisatellites, among others. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Luis Rodolfo Mac\u00edas Jim\u00e9nez, who studies Mechatronic Engineering at the Tijuana Campus, will participate in the scholarship program \u00abUnited Space School\u00bb to be held at the NASA facilities in Houston, Texas, from July 21st to August 5th of this year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last August, Dr. Hern\u00e1ndez visited the Tijuana and Mexicali campuses to share his success story with members of the student and academic community, where he highlighted his effort, perseverance and commitment through \u00abThe Star Harvester\u00bb, thanks to the collaboration between CETYS and PIMSA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Academics and students of the institution will work with the American astronaut of Mexican origin in technological projects of the industry, conferences,&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":499,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[2,9,22],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/498"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/4"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=498"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/498\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":500,"href":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/498\/revisions\/500"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/499"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=498"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=498"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=498"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
