{"id":334,"date":"2017-10-05T18:05:06","date_gmt":"2017-10-05T18:05:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/?p=334"},"modified":"2020-03-19T06:13:04","modified_gmt":"2020-03-19T06:13:04","slug":"human-capital-the-future-of-the-aerospace-industry-in-the-baja-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/human-capital-the-future-of-the-aerospace-industry-in-the-baja-region\/","title":{"rendered":"Human Capital: the Future of the Aerospace Industry in the Baja Region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00abWe work together with the industry to understand current and future needs and collaborate with the best universities around the world to create programs and provide those who trust in CETYS a competitive advantage on the global stage,\u00bb says Dr. Jorge Sosa, current Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/en\/colleges-and-centers-for-excellence\/\">College of Engineering and the Center of Excellence in Innovation and Design.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>For Sosa, the objective is to create highly qualified human capital in a context of innovation and with an international approach, applying and generating knowledge, incorporating scientific and technological advances in the productive sector and boosting innovation.<\/p>\n<p>A clear example, although not the only one, is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/cetys-and-embry-riddle-aeronautical-university-to-collaborate-in-graduate-program\/\">agreement that CETYS made some months ago with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU)<\/a>, the most important university in the United States in aviation subjects, that counts among its graduates six astronauts from NASA. This is the only agreement ERAU has in the country.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The collaboration, which goes hand in hand with several other actions that CETYS has promoted in the last year to meet the needs of a new generation of engineers in the mega-region Cali-Baja, responds to an industry that has become a rising technological niche, and according to the Mexican Ministry of Economy expects to grow from 310 companies in 2014 to more than 500 by 2020, supplying Europe, Asia and the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00abWe believe that CETYS &#8216;collaboration with Embry-Riddle will bring a different perspective to our current engineering departments,\u00bb says Alonso Kong, Director at Gulfstream Aerospace Mexicali.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Kong, along with other representatives of the Aerospace Industry in Baja California, including companies such as Honeywell and UTC Aerospace Systems, were present at the signing of a CETYS agreement with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), the most important aeronautical university in the United States United, which has six NASA astronauts among its alumni. This is the only agreement ERAU has with a Mexican university.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanks to the agreement, CETYS and Embry-Riddle will offer joint courses, with ERAU professors, in CETYS\u2019 Master of Engineering and Innovation. In addition, CETYS is part of CONACYT Scholarship Program for Postgraduates in Industry, which, along with the government, offers scholarships to employees of companies in the aerospace, medical and engineering sectors such as: Honeywell, Skyworks, Gulfstream, Medtronic, Fisher and Paykel Healthcare, SA de CV, Fender, Baja Oriente, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00abOnly then will we be able to meet the needs of the rapidly growing aerospace industry in Mexico and, above all, continue to position the region as one of the high technology centers in the world,\u00bb said Sosa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00abWe work together with the industry to understand current and future needs and collaborate with the best universities around the world to&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":335,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-334","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-international"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
