{"id":248,"date":"2017-05-18T00:32:44","date_gmt":"2017-05-18T00:32:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/?p=248"},"modified":"2020-03-19T06:55:57","modified_gmt":"2020-03-19T06:55:57","slug":"undergraduate-students-overcome-borders-with-binational-leadership-course","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/undergraduate-students-overcome-borders-with-binational-leadership-course\/","title":{"rendered":"UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS OVERCOME BORDERS WITH BINATIONAL LEADERSHIP COURSE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The closing activities of the program <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/noticias\/cetys-ulv-van-lideres-vision-transfronteriza\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00abLeadership and culture: building bridges\u00bb<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were carried out in Tijuana, Mexico, where a total of 18 undergraduate students from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cetys.mx\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CETYS University <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Mexico) and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/laverne.edu\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">University of La Verne<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (United States) participated as a result of the interest of both institutions in <\/span><b>providing an international academic experience.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The program is a unique college class that went beyond physical boundaries, seeking to build bridges between students on both sides of the border and providing the skills they\u2019ll need to overcome cultural barriers when developing projects for multinational companies and public agencies.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-249 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/cetys_laverne17-2.jpg\" alt=\"clases\" width=\"958\" height=\"637\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/cetys_laverne17-2.jpg 958w, https:\/\/www.cetys.mx\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/cetys_laverne17-2-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 958px) 100vw, 958px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The course was offered by both US and Mexican faculty, and had <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/drfernandoleong?lang=es\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">President Fernando Leon Garcia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from CETYS and President Devorah Lieberman from U of la Verne, as facilitators as well. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Le\u00f3n Garc\u00eda thanked the participants for their interest and commitment towards activities that seek to broaden their perspective of the world, as well as to bringing added value to their education and professional experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen this class began in February, the students and faculty from our two universities were strangers.
