Dr. Milena Sorzano-Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong> recently conducted an entrepreneurship workshop for women at the Tijuana Penitentiary. Sorzano-Rodriguez is a faculty member at CETYS University\u2019s School of Business and Administration in Tijuana.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In collaboration with Baja California\u2019s State Penitentiary System Commission,<\/em> this initiative engaged 13 women in the facility, guiding them through idea development and equipping them with the skills to start a business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop covered key topics such as identifying entrepreneurial potential, developing sustainable business ideas, crafting a business plan, and cultivating the habits and skills essential for successful entrepreneurship. The program concluded with participants presenting their final projects.<\/p>\n\n\n

This initiative to promote women\u2019s entrepreneurship is a collaborative effort that also includes Dr. Yadira Zulith Flores-Anaya <\/strong>from UABC\u2019s Yunes Center and Dr. Crisel Yalitze Lugo-Gil <\/strong>from the University of Sonora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also encourage you to listen to the Capstone Connection<\/a><\/strong> podcast, where CETYS University faculty discuss the challenges faced by individuals in vulnerable situations, particularly women striving to reintegrate into the workforce or resume their professional lives after regaining their freedom. The conversation delves into how this initiative first started in a penitentiary in Nogales, Sonora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
