CETYS University welcomes more than 270 students and 11 professors from Asia, Europe, and the Americas; who participate in the tenth edition of the \u201cInternational Summer Program (ISP) 2022\u201d, an annual global university gathering based at the Ensenada campus.<\/p>\n
In this 2022 edition, the ISP takes place within the framework of the 60th Anniversary of CETYS University; students and professors from 22 countries participate along with CETYS students from the Ensenada, Tijuana, and Mexicali campuses for the first time, it is performed in face-to-face and virtual modality.<\/p>\n
In his welcome message, Dr. Fernando Le\u00f3n-Garc\u00eda, President of CETYS University, highlighted that this program emerged ten years ago to provide an opportunity for internationalization at home and that it has evolved to host almost 300 participants from different latitudes in past editions.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am grateful for the support of CETYS University\u2019s strategic partners, who, through the faculty and students, strengthen the relationship with our institution and continue to build bridges of collaboration at the international campus. To the students who join us both in person and online, congratulations. I congratulate you for your commitment to quality education, for continuing to prepare yourself beyond geographic borders, and for being aware that an international education contributes to your training.\u201d Said Dr. Fernando Le\u00f3n.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Dr. Scott Venezia-Corral, Director of International Relations of the CETYS University System, mentioned that several things had changed for this post-pandemic edition of the ISP, however, internationalization will continue to be crucial for the education of young people from Baja California at CETYS.<\/p>\n
Dr. Venezia emphasized three elements that characterize a program like this. A professional and globally oriented staff dedicated to organizing the program content and logistics students who decide to take part and commit to the program; and CETYS network and international relations. \u201cCountless universities promote our program, believe in it, trust it and send professors and students to participate,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Dr. Francisco V\u00e9lez-Torres, Dean of CETYS University International Campus in Ensenada, said that for two weeks, the students will participate in the ISP program. Besides acquiring knowledge, they will undertake intercultural activities that will allow them to better develop professionally in an international context.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are pleased to have you at the Ensenada International Campus. We wish you the best of success. The commitment of each one must be to give your best to learn from professors and peers, as well as from the cultural and social activities that are included in the ISP.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Finally, Dr. Sandeep Pashpande Chairman of ASM Group of Institutes from India, said that international programs like these are very important because students come and stay in Mexico and develop soft social skills that are critical for business. They learn, appreciate, and understand international cultures, which is very important in their professional life. \u201cLikewise, the networking that takes place in this type of program allows them to develop skills to succeed.
