As part of his participation in the ACE Fellows Program, Dr. Jorge Sosa López, Dean of CETYS University’s College of Engineering, offered the conference «Effective Linkage as a Competitive Advantage in Higher Education» to the academic community of St. Cloud State University (SCSU) in Minnesota where he is currently doing his stay.

Dr. Sosa López presented the components of a four-helix linkage model: educational institution, industry, government and society; with examples of how CETYS has created effective and productive collaborations between the industry and other academic partners, one of which is St. Cloud State University.

At the conference Dr. Sosa spoke about a linking model he is developing as part of his stay, contextualized with examples of effective linkage of CETYS University made through the College of Engineering and the Center for Innovation and Design (CEID).

As an example, he highlighted that CETYS University and SCSU extended the collaboration ties initiated in 2015, with the recent development of a Graduate Program that seeks to promote the medical device industry in the region. The program is focused on the technology of manufacturing medical products, which responds to the needs of the industry in the Cali-Baja region.

Dr. Sosa López is currently participating in the prestigious ACE Fellows Program of the American Council for Education (ACE), and has selected St. Cloud State University to complete his participation. The ACE Fellows Program is a prestigious program of effective and comprehensive leadership development in American higher education.
