Dr. Fernando Leon Garcia was one of the distinguished speakers in the first edition of the of Times Higher Education (THE) Latin America Universities Summit. THE has been a global authority on higher education and research for more than 40 years.
The summit addressed issues such as sustainable expansion: transitioning from an elite to a mass system; data-informed decision making: achieving accountability and excellence in teaching and research; and internationalization in the Latin American context.
During his intervention regarding Internationalization, León García emphasized that collaboration between universities around the world is key in establishing and implementing high quality standards for education across the globe; furthermore, academic mobility provides students with a broader scope in their selected fields.
